LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0. is combining the versatility of the LEGO building system with a microcomputer brick and intuitive programming software, this building kit enables you to construct robots that see, speak, feel, and move. This robotics tool set features everything you need to create and program your first robot in approximately one hour.
If this is your first electronic LEGO robot toy, you can easily install your first robot with the NXT 2.0’s special with a building element called “start here”. We would definitely recommend to start building with the Alpha Rex first, for it is less complicated as compared to the other three. After you have done familiarizing, you can then start building the other three. [Buy it here]

Installing your LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0 is not hard at all but not too easy as well. The start here part will keep you guided as well as the step-by-step instruction that is included in the packaging. After you have installed your first NXT 2.0, the next step is a little harder. You have to understand its programming software including the drag-and-drop software, which is a little bit easier. However, when it is time for you to understand the attached documentation, we must admit that we’re having a hard time understanding the documentation, for it is not very clear. The step-by-step programming guide that you can find in the kit can be of great help, but we are lucky enough that there are lots of sample program for us to get started with our new toy.

What’s more exciting about the NXT 2.0 is its new exciting features that add up the fun in playing this one of a kind electronic robot. This new Mindstorms series has two touch sensors, an ultrasonic sensor, and a color sensor that has various functions like detecting six basic colors, measure light intensity, and even acting as a lamp. Another exciting feature that the Mindstorms has is the user’s ability to interact with some other LEGO mindstorm users and communities from all over the world. In this way, one can share his or her knowledge about robotics particularly with the LEGO Mindstorms series and enhance his or her knowledge as well about the said field.

If you have problems with your LEGO Mindstorms NXT 2.0, a single dial on LEGO’s customer care will solve the problem. However, we recommend you consulting the LEGO Mindstorms community like forums and message boards, as we strongly believe that they know better than those from the customer service do know, for they are actual users like you and encounter various problems as well.
The LA Auto Show runs from 4 to 13 December at the Los Angeles Convention Centre. Here are some of the new models on show.

I love seeing Reuters’ lists of the best photos. Every year you can see new one. And there is not photo that you can say it’s bad.

We know winter is upon us when that first snowstorm hits; phone trees are initiated, and jubilant children rush outdoors bundled up into balls of jacket eager to make a snow man. As in any situation, there are people who take the normal and step it up a notch, and take their “snowmen” very seriously. Here are 12 groups of intricate and exotic snow sculptures that will make your next snowman look like a drunken mistake.

The human fascination with animal life is expressed in any snow sculpture competition, as the UKn West is represented by herds of galloping stallions emerging from banks of snow, and life size blue whales titillate onlookers because of their awesome scale. The fluidity of these sculptures create a stunning illusion of motion.

Murals are typically paintings that show a broad scene, but with snow sculptors, they’re gigantic masterpieces carved out of a snowbank. With a scale that is awe inspiring, teams of sculptors furiously carve intricate and images straight out of the imagination. The amount of snow necessary to put together one of these designs is staggering, and that’s not even taking into account the mechanics of actually carving one of these temporary wonders.

As much as humanity is intrigued by animal life and nature, we’re still damn fascinated by ourselves. We love to make larger than life portraits that give a glimpse of a specific emotional state, or exaggerate typical human features to a humorous degree. The only way to show off these portraits? Take a photo in front of one, making a self portrait of your own.

When you approach an alabaster building glinting with icicles, you tend to expect it to be made of wood and stone. This isn’t true in the annual Sapporo Snow Festival in Japan, where entire city halls and traditional Japanese architecture is exhibited in works that are at least life size. With waving flags, and thick columns, these temporary creations elicit a swelling of pride in home and country, as well as a troubling desire to grab a hunk of the building and throw it at a friend.

The comic ‘Calvin and Hobbes’ showcases a series of iconic snowman scenes created by the comic’s outrageous main characters: Giant snow monsters lurch toward low-lying buildings, snowmen melt with grimaces on their faces, and snow creations swim desperately away from swarming snow sharks in scenes straight out of a child’s imagination. Naturally, people like to bring these scenes to life.

Snow is flexible as a medium, and like illustration, it truly lets the mind go wherever it wants, but with much more stunning, three dimensional consequences. Snow creatures can have any appearance, and perform any action, or strange creatures can emerge out of nowhere and then disappear back into the ground… there’s almost no limit to where snow sculptors can take us.

Scenes from film and television, children’s shows, and folklore are common sources of inspiration. The Japanese animator Miyazaki’s popular creations, the Totoro, are a common sight, but if you dig further you can even find the famous standoff with the gigantic Stay Puft marshmallow man, from the film “Ghostbusters.” Trolls and fairies, domokun, and characters from Disney films, are all displayed in stunning form.

Some think bigger is better, and entire towns will unite to put together world record sized creations. Bethel, Maine is renowned for their construction of the largest snowman ever built, but they are far from the only people trying. Bulldozers and dump trucks stand in for the typical shovel and gloved hands, but the result isn’t too far different from your typical backyard snowman… just bigger… astonishingly bigger.

Artists are fascinated by the human hand, partly because a disembodied hand is more symbol than limb, and also because of its beautiful form. Regardless of the reasoning behind its popularity, snow sculptures across the world showcase the human hand holding symbols and objects that either exalt an ideal, or simply show a typical human activity on a much larger scale.

When one thinks of a snowman, the last adjectives that come to mind are “delicate” and “intricate,” but this is not the case with snow sculptors, who relish creating designs and visual images that seem too fragile to exist, at least, made out of snow. As soon as these designs are hit by the sun, they begin secreting the very water that keeps them stable, and the inherently temporary nature of snow sculptures lend them a grace that would not exist if they were made of stone. Shipping container architecture is one of the biggest (relatively) new things in building these days. With the low cost, environmentally friendliness, and availability of the materials, it’s no wonder that more and more architects are getting turned on to the possibilities of shipping containers. They’re perfect for more than just building houses; they are also the ideal material for low-cost communal and emergency housing. For dorms, urban apartments, jails and emergency shelters, shipping containers provide an ideal jumping-off point. We’ve already seen some of the most incredible single-family shipping container homes out there; now here’s a look at some of the best group housing solutions using steel shipping containers. Forget silly things like human anatomy and the laws of physics. When it comes to Photoshop, reality needn’t apply – just clone, rotate, skew, blur and hope nobody notices. From missing limbs to outrageously overzealous retouching, an incredible number of Photoshop screw-ups have graced magazine covers, product packaging and store displays.
A Bounce House for Tiny Floating Kids

(image via: Photoshop Mistakes)
Either this ‘bounce house’ offered by Walmart has truly amazing properties – causing kids to magically turn into hobbits and develop the ability to float in mid-air – or it’s being marketed to a very small group of tiny mutant children. Either way, that one kid floating above the slide should probably get his parasitic twin checked out by a doctor.
Why Bother with Fine Print?

(image via: Photoshop Disasters)
You’ve got to hand it to Bausch & Lomb (if you still can, that is): at least they’re up front about the terrible, disfiguring side effects you can expect to experience after using their products. They don’t try to hide it in 12 paragraphs of fine print on their website, it’s right there in the ad. Or, perhaps they’re sending the message that if we use their eye drops, we, too, will be too blind to see glaring mistakes like missing limbs.
Microcephalic Madonna

(images via: All About Madonna + Gallery of the Absurd)
It was a real head-scratcher. When this issue of Out Magazine debuted, people were wondering why Madonna suddenly looks like an alien with a pinhead. It seems that some ‘creative’ Photoshopping was used not only to shrink her skull, but make her shoulders disappear as well.
Invisible Bike

(image via: Photoshop Disasters)
It’s hard to tell exactly what the graphic designer was going for here. Perhaps they erased part of the bicycle to work on the wall and forgot to put it back in, or they wanted it to appear as if the man was sitting on the wall and neglected to take out the front part of the bike. Or maybe they’re trying to tell us that if you trade with Saxo Bank, they’ll send you a really cool half-invisible bike.
That Weight Loss Will Cost You

(image via: Photoshop Mistakes)
Tara had heard the rumors about extreme weight loss tactics on The Biggest Loser, but she wasn’t prepared for the terrible price she would ultimately pay to reach her goal. But that’s okay, she was never all that fond of her right leg anyway.
The Phantom Hand

(image via: TresSugar)
Extra hands seem to be one of the most common Photoshop bloopers. They’re seen on book covers, movie posters and advertisements – the sad remains of someone the designer wanted out of the picture. Odds are, someone pulling an all-nighter to meet a deadline failed to see the extra appendage peeking out from this woman’s hair.
The Mirror Doesn’t Lie

(image via: Photoshop Disasters)
Image retouching is a fact of modern life. Blemishes and wrinkles must disappear, dark circles concealed, awkward expressions corrected, hair smoothed, curves nipped and tucked. But if you’re going to drastically alter people’s faces, it’s best to do it in any noticeable reflections, as well.
Belly Buttons are Ugly Anyway

(image via: Gawker)
Models tend to have pretty incredible physiques in the first place, but magazine editors are looking for absolute flawlessness. So, a little bit of airbrushing and viola, this woman’s smooth and toned abdomen (left) is free of that distracting imperfection we call a “navel”. But things are not always what they seem – when Victoria’s Secret model Karolina Kurkova (right) was spotted sans belly button walking down a runway, it was revealed that an operation as an infant left her without one.
Chucky’s Little Sister

(image via: Photoshop Disasters)
There’s probably a perfectly reasonable explanation for the demon child that has attached itself to this poor woman’s back. From the pointed, too-white teeth and dead unsmiling eyes to the plastic-looking arm and strange lighting, not to mention the mother’s weirdly blurred neck, this entire image is a perfect example of graphic artists not knowing when to stop.
A Tent for Kids with No Legs

(image via: ext237)
It happens to every designer at some point: at the last possible minute, your client – who didn’t provide you with any photography containing people – wants you to insert some people into the image. So, what’s a harried artist to do but completely ignore silly things like perspective and human anatomy to get the job done? This poor little half-girl was just collateral damage.
Suspend Your Disbelief for a Moment

(image via: Photoshop Disasters)
“Hmmm, this image of an Audi parked in front of a fake background needs a little something. How about some snappy architecture? Oh, don’t worry about reflections, the size relative to the background, or the feasibility of placing such a building right on the edge of the highway. Make sure there are at least three different light sources, too.”
You, Too, Can Have a Magic Giant Check

(image via: Motifake.com)
Just look at this incredibly lucky, successful guy. Nothing says prosperity like a Hummer, a seaside locale and a giant check for half a million dollars. Spelling ‘hundred’ wrong doesn’t take away from the legitimacy at all. But you know what makes this image even more effective? Using a magic giant check that doesn’t cast a shadow or show up in reflective surfaces.
Photoshop: You’re Doing it Wrong

(image via: Photoshop Mistakes)
Images like this prompt one to wonder if, minutes before the magazine went to print, some editor thought to herself, “This voting machine really needs a shadow to give some balance to the overall composition of the cover.” But the graphics department had already gone home. No worries – the editor can totally handle it herself. It’s just a shadow. And doesn’t it look great?
When a Photograph Becomes a Cartoon

(image via: Moon Dog Sports)
If this were meant to be an illustration, then perhaps the model’s pulled taffy legs and the curiously wax-like figures of the arm-wrestling men would be understandable. But this image from the 2010 Campari calendar, featuring Olga Kurylenko, stands out as absurdly fake even among 11 other heavily Photoshopped images.
What an Improvement

(image via: Photoshop Disasters)
Women in lumpy sweatshirts don’t sell products. Some extreme(ly ridiculous) cleavage and a diamond necklace later, and one retoucher was much more optimistic about the image’s potential.

Incredible tattoos by an artist called Yann, who in my opinion, has one of the most unique style of tattoos ever. Rough outlines and fills are his trademark and have made Glamort Tattoo Studio in Montreal Quebec, extremely well known in the tattoo world. If you check his site, you can see that Yann has done so many beautiful tattoos over the years and owns an incredible portfolio of work!
