Notput Music Table Provides a Fun and Interesting Music Producing Experience

The interactive Notput music table with tangible notes offers a classical way of learning music for users in an easy and interesting procedure by combining three senses; hearing, touch and sight. All the basic note values, clefs and accidentals have been designed as a single wood element and whole, half, quarter and eighth notes have been differentiated by their form and weight. The Notput features two modes, the standard mode allows the user to place notes on the table randomly and explore related music outcome, and the exercise mode offers more difficult tutorials by sort of topics. Operating is easy, just put the clef on the table and place a note on the staves, the user will hear the respective sound. To play several notes on the table, the play button will play all the notes on the table. Not only piano, this table can also play other instruments such as guitar, vibrapho, flute and e-piano.

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

Gone are the days when a slow-loading Flash intro gave websites cool points, but failed to serve a real purpose. Flash is now an integral element of some of the most visually stimulating, engaging websites on the ‘net, allowing users to be active participants in the content of the site. Animations, games, virtual exploration and dazzling transition effects make these 15 Flash websites stand out as creative, interesting and fun.

Mauricio Guimaraes

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

When you arrive at illustrator and web designer Mauricio Guimaraes’ website, you’re in for an interactive journey across a strange and fantastical landscape featuring pencils, pen nibs, artist palettes and more. Fly across the land with your mouse and click on the mountain/head (whose eyes move along with your cursor) to read about Guimaraes, the bundle of writing instruments for his portfolio or the big pile of telecommunications equipment to contact the artist.

Wonderwall

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

The portfolio of interior design firm Wonderwall almost seems like a living being when you’re moving your mouse across it; it responds astonishingly fluid movement and little sound effects that sound like drips of water. And while it may seem as if such a design would eclipse the portfolio itself, in this case it incites the viewer to stay and peruse and play much longer than they would on a traditional portfolio website.

National Grid Floe

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

Improve your carbon footprint, or the baby polar bear gets it. That’s basically the gist of London-based utility company National Grid’s website, though it’s actually fun to navigate the site and get a reaction out of the bears. Make friends with a bear cub, name it, and as you answer environmental impact quiz questions correctly, you get to play with it and increase its health.

Get the Glass

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

For most kids, when cookies are out of the equation, drinking a glass of milk is more of a chore than a treat. But the Got Milk? campaign is drawing kids in with a Flash-based interactive flash board game on its website that’s surprisingly sophisticated. The aim is to “briefly put your daily morals aside” and help a family of milk-craving fugitives break into an island fort to get the last glass of milk.

Waterlife

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

A documentary called WaterLife tells “the story of the last great supply of fresh drinking water on earth”: the Great Lakes. With a soothing color scheme, plenty of animation, 3D effects and the opportunity to interact, this website serves as a strong companion to the film.

Dojo SF

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

The Dojo SF intro page slowly unfolds to reveal a strange but spellbinding jumble of arcane imagery, while the individual pages use seamless transitions and scrolling to offer quick and easy access to all of the site’s important info.

The Eco Zoo

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

With stunning Papervision effects and a really fun, interactive flash interface, it’s no wonder the Eco Zoo website won “FWA Site of the Year” in 2009. The designer, Junichi Nakazawa of ENJIN Inc, says “The Eco Zoo is our attempt at creating communication that is easily and enjoyable understood by people of all generations and nationalities, while pushing the envelope of online creative expression.”

Falcon’s Treehouse

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

Falcon’s Treehouse is a creative services firm that designs and produces what they call “themed experiences”, so it’s only fitting that their own website is an experience unto itself that unfolds as you interact with it. The more you play with the site, the more strange new landscapes begin to reveal themselves – night turns into day, patterns appear, blurry images are sharpened.

Record Tripping

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

It starts with a scratch of a record, and gets more complex – and fun – from there. The Bell Brothers’ interactive browser game ‘Record Tripping’ turns your computer mouse into a turntable, inciting you to use your mouse’s scroll function to for a series of challenges that also involve Alice in Wonderland, The Gorillaz, Death Cab for Cutie and Weezer. It’s not quite as strange as it sounds, but fun to play.

Breathe Architecture

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

The Breathe Architecture website doesn’t do anything wild, but sometimes, simplicity can be so refreshing – especially when there are so many Flash websites out there that are cluttered with unnecessary fluff. In fact, for a Flash site, this is downright minimalist, with a design that’s easy to navigate, intuitive and ultra-responsive.

Hobnox Audiotool

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

On the other end of the spectrum – in a good way – is the Hobnox Audiotool website, a browser-based Flash audio production tool that allows you to wire together various types of effects to create music in real time, in your own little virtual studio. Laymans Reviews calls it “one of the most productive ways of wasting time on the web”.

DVEIN 2009

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

Barcelona-based motion and interactive studio DVEIN, responsible for the title sequences in a number of movies and television projects like Spiderman 3, displays their work in an eye-catching wheel of images. Once clicked, many of those images are animated – and from there, a video opens to display the work in full.

Help the Honeybees

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

Honeybee populations around the world are disappearing at an alarming rate, and Haagen-Dazs is letting everyone know with their program Help the Honeybees. Their interactive Flash website allows you to take your very own honeybee on a journey through a buzzing field full of pollen-packed plants to learn more about the plight of bees.

Edwin Murat Ganter

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

Illustrator and web designer Edwin Murat Ganter shows off his skills using flash images of his work scrolling across a television screen.  Nothing stands as a truer sense of a web designer’s work than his own website, and this one is creative and functional.

Monoface

Fantastic Flash: 15 Fun & Dynamic Websites

“Simpler is better.” That’s what advertising agency Mono is trying to get across with their awesome flash website that doesn’t do much more than allow users to create bizarre faces from disparate parts. But get sucked in trying to come up with the funniest combinations (there are 759,375 possibilities), and you’ll get the message.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights
Night lights banish the darkness for young (and old) sleepers who wouldn’t dream of going to bed blindly. These 10 off the wall night lights, on the other hand, show what offbeat artists and geek gadget designers can do when they’re not sleeping on the job.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Plasma Globe Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: Gizmodo and Busytrade)

You don’t have to be a geek to use a plasma globe night light but anybody who sees one these babies pulsating away will draw their own conclusions. Seriously though, how cool is a tiny glass bulb filled with neon, krypton and xenon gas with a pedigree that goes back to Nicola Tesla? Stick a plasma globe night light in your room’s AC electrical outlet and reenact the War of Currents while you snooze the night away.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Vet Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(image via: Best Vet Store)

Vet as in veterinarian, not veteran, though if one happens to be both a veterinarian AND a veteran this night light is most definitely for you. Described by the manufacturer, Kyle Designs, as being artistic and contemporary with a dash of Art Deco, these night lights display a modern stylized version of the Veterinary Symbol in intricate etched metal, customizable with a choice of “cool iridescent stained glass color”. Bow wow!

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Blue Canary Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: Virtually Shocking)

That’s right, a blue canary night light just like the one from TMBG’s “Birdhouse In Your Soul”. You know, “Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch, who watches over you?” One would think the song was inspired by a blue canary night light one of the Johns from They Might Be Giants had when they were a child. Oddly enough, some guy from Minnesota wanted one for his daughter (sure he does) and couldn’t find one for sale, so he decided to make them himself. Here’s a video made by the maker; check it out…and while you’re at it, leave the night light on inside the birdhouse in your soul:

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Lava Lamp Night Lights

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: Amazon, Retrotoys and Squidoo)

Also known as Rocket Night Lights, these shrunken versions of that hoary old hippie icon, the Lava Lamp, have the same effect as downing a dozen “special” brownies – your eyelids will feel heavy, man, far out. By the way, don’t trust anyone who doesn’t fall asleep in over 30 minutes with one of these honeys in the socket.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Adam Lambert Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(image via: I Love Adam Lambert)

If Adam Lambert didn’t light up your life before, he surely will now… your night life at least. Honestly, can you think of anything better that having the outrageous pop singer gaze (spell that carefully) at you from across the room? One thing’s certain: you’ll BOTH wake each morning with a healthy glow… not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Jesus Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: BCGrady1, Home and Garden Webshots, Clampants and Amazon)

The Lord not only works in mysterious ways, but in luminous ways as well. This small selection of Jesus night lights is just a drop in the collection box – in the area of night lights at least, Jesus is MUCH more popular than The Beatles. Now if only they could be equipped with eternal bulbs…

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: Domine.net)

As for the above product, we’ll just quote from the manufacturer’s ad copy: “This ‘miraculous’ Jesus nightlight is a 3-D image of Jesus, that appears to move & follow you wherever you walk in the room. Your children may receive comfort, security, and relief from those sleepless and scary nights.” Dude, seriously?? Plug this thing in and sleepless and scary nights are pretty much guaranteed.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

UFO Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: Walyou, Etsy/Katsudesigns and Traloola)(images via: Walyou, Etsy/Katsudesigns and Traloola)

The UFO Night Light comes in a range of colors and features a design that nicely balances fear with fun. Just the thing to induce pleasant dreams or at the very least, a pleasant dreamlike state. Feeling alienated? Troubled by nocturnal space missions? Pick up a UFO Night Light, it’s the next best thing to being rocket to sleep.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Poison Skull Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(image via: 6-ft-Under)

Skulls are “in” as a fashion theme but who knew they’d be in your light sockets? It’s unclear what the manufacturer intended with this theme – are they fostering a love of pirates, or maybe it’s a backlash against irritatingly joyous Happy Face imagery? Well, dead men tell no tales but if little Johnny has been poking around your home’s electrical outlets, this might be one way to deter him.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Ice Cold Beer Mug Sparkle Night Light

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: Nerd Approved, iOffer and Uphaa)

Some like a light beer, other prefer a beer light… the Ice Cold Beer Mug Sparkle Night Light, to be exact. Though not really appropriate for the kiddies, the beer mug night light is a must for adults who have trouble navigating by daylight, moonlight or a squad car’s flashing lights.

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights

Night Light for ‘Modern Living’

Glow To Sleep: 10 Weird & Wacky Night Lights(images via: Matt Gray)

Is it any wonder the above Night Light for Modern Living is sold at Ax-Man Surplus Stores? Actually no… it’s hard to imagine this nightmarish night light would be a big seller, except maybe to parents who really dislike their kids. As for the name, it’s not known what this nightmare light has to do with modern living unless you’re currently living in an asylum, in which case it fits like a straightjacket. Lights out!

Zar’s interest in the darker side of art began in the earliest stages of his life. A natural fascination with all things strange fostered within himself a deep connection to horror movies and dark imagery.

Evil, Monsters, Death.......

His artistic influences include painter James Zar (stepfather and artistic mentor), Beksinski, H.R. Giger, Frank Frazetta, M.C. Escher, Bosch, John Singer Sargent and Norman Rockwell just to name a few.

Dan Witz In Plain View Book

On February 22, 2010, in 03 - Works Of Art, by admin

Dan Witz In Plain View BookStreetartist & Painter, Dan Witz finally has a book release, available from Gingko Press called, “In Plain View”.

Dan Witz In Plain View Book“Dan Witz: In Plain View — ’30 Years of Artwork Illegal and Otherwise’ is the first and long overdue monograph on the work of Dan Witz. A benefit of having one of the most sustained careers in street art, if such a thing exists, is the degree of growth, freedom and experimentation that such an extended period allows. Another advantage would be the influence of the aesthetic environs within the changing cultural landscape, especially if you happen to work in New York City.”
