It’s quite impossible to learn music for general as well as handicapped people without hearing the melody of a certain music note. MusicReader is an innovative educational tool concept with an appearance of conventional gem clip that can create sound by reading a music note through dragging the device over the music note. This will enable even the novice learner to become an expert with the ability to reading music in an easier and more engaging way. Many of the best ideas, songs and pieces of art of this world were thought while their developers and creators were just gaping and wondering. Many times those moments are accompanied with a drink that helps to find the inspiration. The designer David Jost combined creative thinking and drinking, the result is the Moire Coaster.
He created the Moire Coasters as self contained artworks that help to find ideas to those introspective drinkers. The hipnotic effect caused by the circular interlaced patterns in movement is beautiful. It also produce a sense of depth inside the coaster making it a nice gift and a excellent prop to start conversation or just leave your imagination fly.
From: Kikkerland [Buy it here £12]

The top of the coasters is made of transparent polycarb, while the bottom is black ABS, both are injection molded, recyclable plastics. One part design is printed directly on the backside of the top plastic while the other par of the design is printed on an adhesive white paper stock glued to the bottom part. The bottom part has also 4 silicon pads to adhere the coasters to different surface.

You can buy these creative Moire Coasters directly from the New York Design Studio Kikkerland for just £12 the set of four, or you can buy them from any of their numerous retailers.
The Pros
·Silicon pads allow to rotate the coasters and support them firmly on many surfaces.
·Simple but surprisingly addictive.
The Cons
·Heavy cups or glasses block the rotation.
·Tall glasses could fall if you rotate the coasters while using them.
·Letting liquids inside the coasters could make the rotation harder.
The Verdict
Well, they are relatively cheap, visually attractive, durable and even interactive, what else could you ask to a coaster? If you like to gape while drinking or eating these coasters are for you and if you look for those tiny details that make your meetings special I’m sure that your guests will notice them.

I feel great joy when I stumble upon a mundane, everyday object, that is always dull, and find that someone has taken the time to customize it in an interesting and exciting way. Enter the pen: something used in different forms for thousands of years, and even in the age of computers, still necessary. When someone is using something more exciting than a cheap plastic pen, it’s interesting, and if someone is using the pens below, it’s astounding. Here are some fantastic pen related innovations and customizations:

While the appearance of pens has always modified slightly, but remained basically similar for the last several decades, what’s on the inside has not remained so stagnant. Pen tech is always improving, and in some cases, to a ridiculous degree. Some pens are now able to double as calipers, to store and transfer data from SD cards, or flash drive. Some pens have evolved back into an earlier form, more like a brush than a typical pen, that allows one to practice kanji or create beautiful art. One of the odder example above is able to read specific sheet music and play it out loud, serve as a metronome, and even determine whether your instrument is tuned.

With pens, comes pen holders. While 90% of desks hold pens in a dusty, dated, coffee mug, there are some who seek to add a little flair to their office in any way possible. Along with endless variations of people and animals being stabbed by pens, there is also the mythical Atlas holding forth your mighty pen, or weapons of war in the form of a knight’s helmet, missile launcher, or futuristic blaster.

Thank goodness for ergonomics! The science that keeps our seats comfortable and our cabinets at the right height, is also a huge factor in pen design. Few examples are as striking as the Jean Pierre Lepine creation called “The Free Ride”. This $140 pen looks almost too ergonomic to be comfortable for anyone who has a hand that lies outside the most average size. The pendragon is no different, as its curve is visually appealing, but also odd and uncomfortable looking.

If you want a pen that’s more expensive than the checks you’re writing, check out Montblanc’s gorgeous creations. These pens are more a work of art and jewelry than anything else. Montblanc is known for quality pens so expensive that they have their own display cases (just like you’ll find in a jewelry store). While most people would never consider spending their money on something so frivolous, there’s always someone out there who feels differently.

There are only a few things people need to survive in this world, food, water and shelter. The disaster shelter designed by Jonathan Ferrer, is a portable concept that can easily be deployed by anyone. The functional design is encapsulated within the portable pod. This pod makes the disaster shelter unique as it protects the actual design inside from other unexpected events. The pods’ shape is derived from the shape of an egg which holds and protects life for a period of time until it is ready to move on. The shelter opens up with its tripod design and opens a second layer of legs. As it is opened the orange colored protective layer can be pulled out of each leg, creating a weather resisting shield. The nylon is a rip-stop design which prevents it from tearing apart and is water and wind-proof. The hard white shell holds a rigid frame that supports the shelter and the victims inside. This concept protects life on an entire new level, as it is made from strong materials, and also comes with a protective shell for the shelter itself, making it more durable. This disaster relief shelter was designed to last, to protect and further more to be a friend in need.
